Student ambassadors promote Tech Industry Gold

Each year Tech Partnership Degrees appoint student representatives to act as ambassadors for Tech Industry Gold accredited degrees. Their role is to share content on social media, promote the degrees to prospective students, and act as the conduit between Tech Partnership Degrees and current students.

After a busy first term, we asked the ambassadors what they have been up to and how they are helping to spread the word about Tech Industry Gold.

Sofia Bhatty is studying at QMUL said:

‘Throughout the first term, I’ve been holding weekly sessions for other Tech Industry Gold students leading up to the North Event. We’ve been brainstorming ideas and working on presentation skills. We’ve also had Tech Industry Gold alumni return to university to deliver talks on their journeys sharing where they are now and providing tips on applying for placements.’

‘Next year, I’m hoping to help students prepare for their summer by encouraging them to apply for internships and practise more interview/assessment centre skills.’

Mary Obembe and Kukky George who are studying at Aston University added:

‘This summer we recorded an ‘ITMB at Aston’ promo video and a hint and tips video for all year groups. We’re hoping that the final edits will be available soon so we can share the recording with prospective students.’

‘Next term we’re hoping to do more to promote placements to Tech Industry Gold students, for example, creating a short article/blog to share on TP degrees page/website and inviting other placement students to share their wisdom too.’

Ambassadors have also helped to increase Tech Industry Gold’s online presence.

Samuel Adjei, at UWE, won the opportunity to manage the Tech Partnership Degrees’ Instagram account for two-weeks. The takeover took place before the Tech Industry Gold Student/Employer North Event, so Samuel shared content demonstrating how students were planning and practising their pitches for the North Event’s competition.

If you’re a student ambassador, or a student, we’re looking to hear how you’re helping to spread the Tech Industry Gold word to prospective students. The most creative and inspiring idea will be featured in our monthly newsletter and shared on social media. Please email [email protected].

We look forward to hearing from you.
