BPP was one of the first universities which designed and launched a Degree Apprenticeship in Technology offering all six specialist pathways: Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Business Analyst, Cyber Security Specialist, Data Analyst and Network Engineer.
BPP delivers the Tech Industry Gold accredited degree apprenticeship through a number of employers including KPMG, Nationwide, Santander, Starbucks, and Virgin Money. It enables clients to build a pipeline of digital talent with a sound understanding of technology.
BPP currently educates over 80,000 learners each year on various programmes, from 7000 businesses, in 170 countries. 15,000 of these are based at BPP University, including the Tech Industry Gold accredited Digital Technology Degree Apprenticeship Programme of which there were 236 learners on programme at the end of 2018/2019, with more starting this academic year.
To support the large growth in technology, BPP has continued to recruit technology specialist tutors and associates who would be used to teach niche and fast changing topics on the programme. These same tutors are used on the Tech Industry Gold accredited degree apprenticeship programme including Data Analyst, Cyber Security Technologist, Software Developer, Network Engineering and Infrastructure Technician. The school is also in the process of accreditation for the MSc Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist Degree Apprenticeship, following the successful development of an MSc in Applied Data Science.
The KPMG head of people in the UK said: “We are pleased to be working with BPP to deliver our new KPMG 360 Digital apprenticeship scheme. The programme allows trainees to not only gain a Tech Industry Gold accredited degree apprenticeship, but also to acquire valuable on the job experience.”
Similarly, this feedback was shared through a recent Tech Industry Gold degree apprentice, Sean, who works at a large corporate bank, who said:
“The Tech Industry Gold accredited degree apprenticeship has really helped to give me the knowledge and skills to achieve in my job role”.
