- Let your students know about TIG Live!, send them the link and ask them to register
- Register yourself and let us know if you are arranging travel for your students
- We will promote travel arrangements to your students to increase take up
Tech Titans Student Competition
The Challenge
Students are tasked with coming up with an idea of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used to serve people with disabilities and remove barriers to accessibility. How can we use AI to create a more accessible world for everyone?
There are two entry/prize categories:Â
- First year student teams or individuals Â
- Second and final year student teams or individuals
The finalist team or individual from each university will pitch to top tech bosses at Tech Industry Gold Live! on 22nd November 2023 at Kings House, Manchester.
What students need to do
- Outline their idea and innovation in a 5 minute presentation
- Think about how they will apply business, project and interpersonal skills into their project as well as their technical skills
- Some suggested accessibility categories they may consider are hearing; sight; mental health; physical; neurodiversity; learningÂ
- They can address one or multiple categories
- They will be asked to pitch live for a maximum of 5 minutes followed by a 5 minute Q&A session
- They can use any media, animation, props, or prototypes in your live pitch. Encourage them to be as creative as they can and have fun!
Prizes
1st prize: The winning team or individual in each category will receive a trophy, digital credential and £600
Runner up prize: The team or individual will receive a digital credential and £400.
There will also be individual spot prizes to students who stand out within teams!
