Cross Industry Academy event delights tech professionals

Over sixty alumni attended the first Cross Industry Academy launched by the Tech Allies Network. The evening, which took place at Barclays, London, comprised a panel of speakers from the tech world addressing Open Banking and the rise of Fintech.

A set of presentations were delivered by Keith Little, Sasha Berson, Gary Prince, and Tony Margiotta highlighting their roles in digital banking and a focus on new tech developments. A Q&A panel chaired by Nazia Tingay led to lively questions from the audience ranging from the impact of GDPR to the future of Fintech.

The Tech Allies Network was set up by ITMB graduates Ryan Clifford and Jon David Carman bringing together Tech Industry Gold accredited degree students and tech alumni. Earlier this year, the Tech Allies Network delivered the Summer Institute, a four-week opportunity for Tech Industry Gold accredited degree undergraduates spending a week at a time at Barclays, GSK, and IBM. Each company ran a medley of insight talks and hands-on activities giving first-year students an in-depth understanding of the tech world in three different industries.

Building on its success, the network has now set up the Cross Industry Academy for all tech alumni which is a year-long programme of free evening events offering:

1. Multi-sector knowledge.
2. Networking with other professionals across industries.
3. Thought leadership on the latest topics and trends.

The schedule for next year’s events will cover:

Feb 2019 | The Future of Professional Services in the Digital Age.
May 2019 | The Evolution of Technology in Healthcare.
Sep 2019 | The Impact of Autonomous Cars.
